Missions

St. Peter and Trinity United Church of Christ are actively involved in God's work through local, national, and international missions.  Some of the mission partners include:

Brooklawn, Inc.
There is a long history with this children's home in Louisville, KY.  The congregations make and fill Christmas stockings, send Valentine treats, and make bed coverings for the boys in the academy.

Church World Service
An ecumenical and international partner in mission, Church World Service reaches into every community with developmental aid and disaster relief when necessary.  In recent years, two member of St. Peter's congregation have served on the Church World Service Regional Board.

Community Action Center
A local mission partner located in Dale, IN, the Community Action Center includes a food bank, thrift store, and medical clinic

Heifer International
Heifer International is a vital developmental program that gives needy families animals to supplement the family's diet and income.  The first offspring of these animals are returned to the program to help another neighboring family.

Spencer County Habitat
St. Peter and Trinity helped found the Spencer County Habitat for Humanity affiliate.  Habitat lifts partner families out of poverty by allowing them to become homeowners through 20 year interest free mortgages.

Sri Lanka Mission Partnership
St. Peter and Trinity have been at the heart of the Indiana-Kentucky Conference's ministry with the Jaffna Diocese of the Church of South India.  They have supported the Diocese in their work with children and have initiated a justice and peace advocacy in Washington, D.C. to help bring the civil war to an end.  For addition information on the Sri Lanka Mission Partnership, see the links to the left.

Bankilare, Niger Mission Partnership
St. Peter helped dig a well in the community of Bankilare, Niger in 2004.  In 2005, Bankilare's crops were destroyed by locusts and St. Peter and Trinity joined with other North Spencer congregations in providing food relief.  The congregations work closely with Angela and Albinawi Tiguida in this partnership.
